The Service Committee of the Rotary Club of McLean coordinates the review of funding proposals for donations to charitable and educational organizations. It also coordinates participation in service projects. The Service Committee has provided the following opportunities to engage club members in Community Service Projects: purchase, read, and distribute books to kindergarten, first, and second grade students at Timber Lane Elementary School; sponsor an annual Youth Service Award for deserving high school students; donate blood; ring the bell for the Salvation Army at Christmas time; provide meals once a quarter to teens and staff at the Alternative House; and facilitate groups of sixth graders participating in Ethics Day.
