UPCOMING PROGRAMS:
  • June 6 – Presentation by Major New Project Committee and voting by Club members.
The Major New Project Committee has been working hard to determine a new project for our Club to undertake.  They have spent a lot of time and effort to speak with the mayors, parks superintendents and directors of agencies.  The committee has narrowed the possibilities down to three good options.  Each of these will be beneficial to our community and will also help more people to know about Lafayette Rotary Club and the good that we do.  Each of the projects requires a commitment of $50,000 or more.  It is the intention of all involved that we will continue to do the projects we have been doing: backpacks, both scholarships and camperships, as well as a new project.  Our funding comes from two sources: revenue generated by the endowment (special thanks go out to Golden Service and Diamond Level members) and donations received via the Birthday Table Program.  A proposal is being submitted to the District for a grant.  The maximum available from this will be $5,000.  We will also hold a Signature Event in the spring of 2018 that will be a fundraiser.  The Board of Directors will work hard to allocate available funds in a fair manner so that all of our worthwhile endeavors can move forward.
Plan to be in attendance on JUNE 6th so that you can vote on which new project you favor.  Because the club is stronger and better when we are united in service, the board and officers trust you will support whichever project receives the most votes, even if it is not the one you selected.
