SERVICE ABOVE SELF: We have two opportunities in April to serve our community. On April 15th, playground equipment will be installed at Miami School. Let MARTI GUTWEIN know if you can help. On April 29th, Tree Lafayette is working to install trees. Let SAM BEIDERSTEDT know if you can help. |
CLUB SERVICE OPPORTUNITY: Are you someone who likes to take photos and share about Rotary events and happenings? If so, speak with GAIL BRICKLER, our President-elect, who is gathering her team for the next Rotary year and needs a person who will get the word out about Lafayette Rotary Club. |
TEDxPurdueU: unscripTED This event takes place March 25th from 1-5pm in Loeb Theater, Purdue University. Listen to short talks from 12 different speakers including JENNIFER JONES, Vice President of Rotary International who will speak about: Eradication of Polio – the End is Coming! Thanks to our own MARTI GUTWEIN for helping to organize this important Purdue Convocations event. |
ROTARY WOMEN BUILD TEAM: This year our Club is sponsoring a team for the Habitat for Humanity Women Build project. We will be doing painting on July 12th. So far we have 5 team members: JO WADE, JANE TURNER, MARTI GUTWEIN, KATIE NIELSEN and RENEE FIGUEROA. We need 7 more team members. Participants will work one day (8 hours) and raise $100 each. If you would like to help the team, but do not wish to build, we are seeking Supporters who will provide food on the build day and also raise $100. Men, your contributions are needed as well. Look for a pink sign up form and return it to Renee. |
SECRETARY WILL BE GONE: RENEE FIGUEROA will be gone for the next two weeks and unavailable by phone or email. Please contact JANE TURNER (ttours@comcast.net) if you have questions. RENEE will return on April 2nd. |
OPEN WORLD VISIT: A big thank you to GORDON COPPOC who arranged for housing for the Open World delegates from Azerbaijan last Wednesday. And thanks to the Rotarians who opened their homes. A lively crowd gathered in the evening for supper at Westminster Pub. The guests enjoyed the warm Hoosier Hospitality. |
