PROGRAM:

PATTI TRUITT introduced her friend, Cathy Benner, founder and president of Joyful Journey. As a result of her mother’s experience with dementia, she and her husband felt called by God to provide the community withJoyful Journey support and care for families dealing with the terrible isolation that often accompanies brain diseases. Adult day care services are in short supply in Indiana. The Benners wanted a real home setting, centrally located with ample parking. She gave the history of the project that led to the opening in July of this year. It is a level One Adult Day Care facility offering a safe and engaging environment from 7:30 – 5:30 Monday through Friday. It is not a drop in center and there are no overnight facilities. Cathy outlined the procedure for enrolling in the activities, the types of payment and the costs for various services. Their goal is to make sure the “friends” are still active participants in life.


BIRTHDAY TABLE:
 BARBARA HANSEN, Birthday Table Chair for December, introduced members celebrating another year and announced that so far $2,600 has been contributed to our foundations.  We sang Happy Birthday to this generous group!
