ANNOUNCEMENTS:

♦  DON GENTRY, chair of the Local Projects Committee, announced that committee members, CHRISTA KECK, BILL KIEL, TIM LUZADER, JOEL RASMUS and MARIANNE ROSE will be discussing projects for next year beginning today.  If you have ideas or suggestions regarding our local projects, please contact DON or JANE.

♦ Do you like to plant trees?  Tree Lafayette will be planing 70 trees plus 35 schrubs and small trees on  May 3rd at Glen Acres School.  If you can help, be there at 9:00 for registration.  Dress appropriately, bring a spade.  If there are enough volunteers all the work should be done in 2 hours.

♦ Will we have another Harvest Dinner?  Who will organize it?  Should we have another kind of fund raiser?  BECKY ROBLEDO raised these questions for members to think about.  If we are to have funds for local projects, we need to raise funds.  In 2012 The Harvest Dinner raised $25,000.  In 2013 it brought in $20,000. This will be discussed during the next month.  Any ideas you have should be directed to BECKY or JANE.

♦ Volunteers are needed for packing backpacks this Thursday.  Please contact CATHY BARRON if you can help.

♦ Our printed directories quickly become “out of date”.  Before we print more this summer, please check your information and report changes and/or cell phone number to JANE.

♦ Pub Club is meeting at Red Seven at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.  It is located at 200 Main Street, Lafayette, and BECKY ROBLEDO invites us to park in the Lafayette Savings Bank parking lot at 101 Main Street.

♦ Daybreak Rotary Club’s Toast to Mental Health is May 1st at the Trails.   Tickets are $35.  For more information, contact MHA at 7422-1800 or e-mail info@nami-wci.org

♦ A Military Tribute Video is being prepared by Fisher Funeral Home.  If you have a photo of a Veteran or an Active Duty Soldier that you would like to have included, contact JONATHAN FISHER at 742-1117 before May 1st.

♦ Our club will be participating in the first annual Volunteer Expo sponsored by Leadership Lafayette Class 43 at the YWCA on May 8th between 4 and 6 p.m. Volunteers are needed to represent our club.  Contact CHRIS for if you can help.  Details are here.

♦ 50/50 RAFFLE:  The winning ticket belonged again to GEORGE RAMSEY.   Unfortunately, the aces eluded him, and he received Mike’s Car Wash coupon as consolation.
