PROGRAM:

LIZ SOLBERG introduced 3rd term mayor of Lafayette, Tony Roswarski. The mayor was anxious to tell us that the finances of the City have been approved by the State, enabling the City to reduce the property tax rate. He also said that the Joint Purchaing Board has saved the whole community significant amounts of money.

Ongoing and upcoming projects include improvements to Sagamore Parkway. Rebuilding and utilitiy relocation will begin soon. Lafayette Mayor Roswarski The Durkees Run Storm Water project is nearing completion with a large educational component near Jefferson High School. Matchbox Co-working Space will open soon. Small companies sharing the space and helping each other grow will keep young people creating here. Preservation of a downtown jewell, the Meyers Bridge, will begin soon. The Citizen’s Band will continue to perform on Reihle Plaza, but the local festivals that use the bridge will relocate for a year or two.
