SPECIAL MEETING:
PRESIDENT JOHANNSEN called to order a Special Business Meeting at 12:05 for the purpose of electing a director  to the Lafayette Rotary Club Foundation for a five year term.  BOB VERPLANK moved with a second by MAURI WILLIAMSON to elect TOM PEARSON to the position.  Motion carried.  The meeting adjourned at 12:06.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

♦ PUB CLUB Then next week we will NOT meet on Wednesday, December 18. We will encourage Pub Clubbers to join other Rotarians at the Rotary Open House on Thursday evening, December 19, at JANE TURNER’S house.

♦ Pub Club will NOT meet on December 25 or January 1. We will meet on January 8 at a location yet to be announced.  Stay tuned!

♦ There will be no Rotary Club luncheons on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

♦ The Holiday Open House will be at JANE TURNER’S home on Thursday, December 19th.  The fun will begin at 4:30.  If you enjoy wine, please bring a bottle to share.  All other food and sweets will be provided.

♦ PRESIDENT CHRIS announced that the club is 67% of the way to reaching the $100,000 Commumity Foundation Matching Grant goal.  Any contributions received by the 30th of December will eligible for the match.

♦ Used furniture is needed.  If you are getting rid of sofas, chairs, beds, chests of drawers, please call JOHN BARRETT.

♦ Last Saturday was not the best day to be ringing bells for the Salvation Army.  Snow kept many people home.  However, checks will be welcome any time.  Remember, we need to raise more than Kiwanis.

♦ 50/50 RAFFLE:  The winning ticket belonged to FLOYD GARROTT.  Unfortunately the Aces eluded him.
