The herniated disc surgery went well on Monday. The beautiful poinsettia was un-necessary, but greatly appreciated. Many thanks from a fellow Rotairian.

PROGRAM:
Because Kiwanis normally meets on Thursday, for more years than anyone can remember, we have asked them to join us on Tueday during the week of Thanksgiving. 
This year was their turn to Chair the meeting and provide the program. We are happy that they were able to book John Norberg, whose topic was “Be Thankful!”
John opened by thanking both organizations for the service projects, which touch so many lives. He then told stories with a shread of truth and loads of humor. In the style of Jeff Foxworthy, he asked, “How do you know when you’re getting older?” “You might be getting older if or when…….”
John’s newest book, “Spacewalker” is the story of Indiana native Jerry Ross; the most launched person in the history of space exploration. He shared interesting tidbits like: it takes 8.5 minutes to get into space; Jerry is ranked 3rd for number of space walks; and there is a poker game among the crew prior to launch until the Commander losses so that he leaves bad luck behind.
John reminded us that Thanksgiving is not only a time to celebrate football, but also those who are no longer at the table, as well as the grown children who now bring grandchildren to the table. He shared an article written for the Journal & Courier many years ago about Elizabeth and her little pink bike.
