Dear Rotary Club Members: |
VOCATIONAL MOMENT: |
MARIELLEN NEUDECK, born in eastern Montana and educated at the University of Minnesota, came to West Lafayette so her husband could get a Ph.D. She became involved in the League of Women Voters and several other organizations. This led her to be elected to the West Lafayette School Board in 1976. On a tennis court, she was asked to teach writing at Krannert. As she says, “One thing led to another.” With sons needing less of her assistance, she went to school to become a hospital administrator. When Paul Hess hired her at St. Elizabeth Hospital; there was no promise of the long career that she enjoyed. MARIELLEN also served as chair of the Lafayette Savings Bank board of directors. She is very grateful for the opportunities given her as “one thing led to another.” |
