  • October 15 - Purdue Habitat, Bucket 100 Bike Ride (speakers Jennifer Whister, past Pres., current Laf. Habitat Employee, Kristina Throne, VP of Fundraising Purdue Habitat and Elaine Grott, Pres, Purdue Habitat).
  • October 22 – Harvest Dinner Hoopla Presentation.
  • October 29 – Clare Lutgen, Principal of Oakland School.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:

♦ We have (16) Purdue Rotaracts signed up to help the entire evening of the Harvest Dinner.  Six tickets have already been covered.  We need to pay for ten more meals.  If you can help, please contact KIM or BECKY.

♦ PUB CLUB will meet this Wednesday at 5:30 at Pablanos on the levee in WL. All are welcome to join the fun.

♦ BETTY DOVERSBERGER reminded us that nominations for the Service Above Self Award (presentation to be made at the  Harvest Dinner) are due next week.  This award is not for organizations, but instead, for individuals or small groups of dedicated people helping youth.  If you have questions, please contact BARB REIF.

♦ Get your Harvest Dinner ticket soon.  Sales end on October 18th.   If you need a vegetarian meal, contact RENEE ROAMES.

♦ The Read to Succeed program is in need of 30 volunteers.  If you can help, please contact PHIL TUCKER.

♦ Another volunteer opportunity:  Our club is participating with the Purdue Habitat Club by funding a SAG stop (Supply and Gear) on their “Bucket 100” Bike Ride to raise money for a Habitat House.  This is the group that helped us with our Gus Macker fund raiser and to build a house.  Volunteers are needed on Saturday, October 19th from 9:30 – 11:00 AM to staff the SAG (probably located near Stockwell).  Anyone interested in helping can contact RENEE ROAMES.

♦ JIM KLUSMAN thanked those who have contributed to the auction and gave permission to contact the companies that you suggested to request donations.  Contribution forms are available and items can be brought to luncheon meetings.

♦ An international project in the Dominican Republic to supply water can be funded through the District for $13,000.  JACK KELLEY would like to know your thoughts on raising the money for this project.

♦ Backpack sign up sheets are on the bulletin board. Volunteers are needed to pack on Thursdays and distribute on Fridays.  Please sign up to help.

♦ 50/50 RAFFLE:  The winning ticket belonged to BOB HANNEMANN.  He drew the Ace of Diamonds!   Congratulations!!!!
