PROGRAM: |
CHRIS JOHANNSEN introduced DISTRICT GOVERNOR DOTTIE HANCOCK, who encouraged us to live the Four-Way Test. This year’s theme is “Engage Rotary. Change Lives.” In order to Engage Fun, the District is having a Polo Match near Whitestown on September 22nd. The District Conference on November 1 & 2 will be fun and more fun will be had January 25 & 26 at Bowl to Fight Polio. Engage can also mean attack. Rotary attacks poverty, illiteracy, food insecurity, and polio. She encouraged us to have 100% participation in Every Rotarian Every Year. If you can’t afford $100, contribute something – even $10 helps. Pieces of a puzzle were distributed to members, who assembled at the front of the room to put the picture together. It revealed a well with a child gathering water. She quoted a mother in Haiti who said, “When the well came the children stopped dying.” When we engage Rotary, we do change lives. |
