ANNOUNCEMENTS:

♦ Congratulations to PHIL TUCKER whose business, P.E. Tucker Insurance, receives the Small Business of the Month Award to be presented tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug 7th at 5-6 pm at the Lafayette Savings Bank Annex. You are encouraged to attend his reception and then join the Pub Club for their normal meeting at Sgt. Preston’s right across the parking lot.

♦ Congratulations to GREG KAPP who is joining Purdue University as Assistant Vice President for Development Operations. Further congratulations to MARIANNE ROSE who was appointed as President and CEO of the Community Foundation.

♦ MIKE PIGGOTT announced the Boiler Bridge Bash which will be held at the Myers Bridge on August 15 from 5:45 PM-7:15 PM. This is a welcoming event for newly arrived Purdue International Students and the Gold Rush event held for incoming Purdue freshmen. A sign-up sheet is provided for Rotary members to assist in a variety of ways for this event.

♦ Next week, our District Governor, DOTTIE HANCOCK, will be visiting our Club. Club leadership will be meeting with her at 10:15 AM.

♦ BECKY ROBLEDO announced that members who assisted with the Backpack Program last year, should have received an email from the Lafayette School Corporation to re-approve yourself as a “Volunteer” in the LSC for the 2013-2014 School Year. Please reply to the email and your Volunteer status will be renewed. If you want to join as a Volunteer, please contact Becky for the correct forms.

♦ The Club received a letter from Professor William Harper, Purdue Athletes Life Success Program (PALS) thanking the Club for our assistance and generous gift of $350 for bicycles provided to selected participants.

♦ 50/50 RAFFLE: The winning ticket belonged to LEW RUNNELS. Unfortunately, the aces eluded him, so he received coupon for pizza as consolation prize.
