SPECIAL CELEBRATION:
Last Wednesday was the 40th Anniversary of the founding of the Lafayette Rotary Foundation (now called the Lafayette Rotary Club Foundation). In celebration, bite-sized rounds of toffee were distributed; Happy Birthday was sung; and members were encourged to contribute to either the Projects Fund or the Endowment Fund, which received a 25% match from the Community Foundation until December 31st.
On behalf of the Lovell family, I want to thank you for the contribution to the foundation in Bill’s name. He very much loved and supported Rotary.

CHRIS introduced Tommy Decker with MetroNet who talked 
about “The global marketplace won’t wait: How a 100% Fiber Optic Network is the future of business for our community and why it will keep us globally competitive.” The video he showed explained how the increased speed with broad-band fiber optics would create a better TV experience, improve healthcare, education, public utilities and business demands. The company is spending $60 million to build the infrastructure. He answered several questions following his prepared remarks.
