ANNOUNCEMENTS:

♦ Pub Club will hold its April meetings on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm at the Main Street Wine and Cheese Shop, also known as Uncorked. The address is 1005 Main Street, Lafayette.

♦ Euchre Players!  LETA KELLEY says GARY BLAU will host the next game on Saturday, May 4th at 6:30 PM.  Bring a dish to share and come prepared to have a good time.

♦ Since no snowbirds responded: Attention All Male Rotarians!  Please check your closet to see if the tan raincoat hanging there is actually yours.  Last fall, one of you mistakenly grabbed the wrong coat.  The one you left on the coat rack is too big for BOB HANNEMANN.  If you have his coat, he would love to exchange yours for his.

♦ SONYA MARGERUM reported on the success of the Open World sponsored visit of the five Russian women.  They are safely home in Kaluga, promising never to forget the wonderful people they met in Indiana.  There was a nice article and picture in the Journal & Courier.

♦ DICK RAHDERT explained that the District is matching points for contributions of $100 - $500 made to The Rotary Foundation in the month of May.  Check should be made to The Rotary Foundation and DICK will process them through the District to make sure you receive the points.  If you make your contribution on-line, just print the receipt and get it to him.  If you have questions, please contact DICK.

♦ Volunteers are needed from noon to 2:00 on Saturday, April 27th at WL Wal-Mart to collect funds for the Red Cross.  Please contact TERRY WEST if you can help.

♦ Rapoport Anatoli immigrated from Russia and is in the Education Dept. at Purdue.  He requests host families for the participants of the Institute that he is running in July. The Institute is called Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Summer Institute.  http://www.education.purdue.edu/benfranklin/index.html It will bring 45 European and US High School students to Purdue for 4 weeks in July. All participants go through very rigorous selection through US Embassies in Europe and all speak English. This program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.  Participants will be staying with host families for 10 days.  If you can help, contact Rapoport Anatoli at rapoport@purdue.edu.
