♦ Pub Club will hold its April meetings on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm at the Main Street Wine and Cheese Shop, also known as Uncorked. The address is 1005 Main Street, Lafayette.

♦ Volunteers are needed for this Thursday to pack backpacks.  Please contact LETA KELLEY if you can help.

♦ The District Assembly is Saturday, April 13th at 8:30 a.m. at Westfield High School, 18250 North Union Street, Westfield.  Register on DaCdb and contact CHRIS JOHANNSEN if you would like a ride.

♦ Volunteers are needed on April 27th to collect funds for the American Red Cross at the two entrances of the West Lafayette Wal-Mart.  The shifts are one or two hours each.  Please see the sign up sheet on the bulletin board.

♦ Euchre Players!  LETA KELLEY says GARY BLAU will host the next game on Saturday, May 4th at 6:30 p.m.  Bring a dish to share and come prepared to have a good time.

♦ The Open World team is leaving Moscow and will be here next Tuesday.   Welcome them at a reception in Armstrong Hall at 5:30 p.m. this Friday.

♦ Attention snowbirds!  Did you leave for Florida shortly after attending Rotary last fall?   Did you grab your tan raincoat off the rack and not have an occasion to wear it again?  Is it hanging in your closet now?  Please check it.  The one you left on the coat rack is too big for BOB HANNEMANN.  If you have his coat, he would love to exchange yours for his.

♦ Household items are needed for needy families.   If you are getting rid of things, call JOHN BARRETT and he will arrange for a pick up.

Highlights of the Club Board Meeting:

  • LARRY HUGGINS, our new Webmaster, demonstrated the new web site.  It will be available at our URL this week.

   • New policies regarding Executive Committee and Governance Committee were adopted.  All club policies are available on DaCdb.  After logging in, go to FILES, then CLUB DOWNLOADABLE FILES then SECURE FILES under LAFAYETTE DOWNLOADS.

   • After reconsideration and more discussion (the analysis of our Treasurer indicating that at least for this next year our budget would fall short), the reduced rate for couples, which was announced last month, was rescinded.

    • BILL HATFIELD asked for reaction to a proposal to R I to increase dues by $3 per member to offset the costs of International Conventions.  He will take our Board’s negative response to the Council on Legislation.

Thanks to TOM MORAN, the Badge Box has been reorganized to allow for the new members’ blue badges to be integrated in with the rest.  Please check the list (which should be in alphabetical order) to see where your badge presently resides.
