ANNOUNCEMENTS:

♦ JANE SMITH announced that dues statements are being sent by e-mail on April 1st. If you do not receive yours, please contact Club Treasurer JANE SMITH. Members who receive Ripples by U.S. Mail will receive the dues statement in the same way. Semi-Annual dues of $126 are due by the last day in April.

♦ The Club Board will meet at Elmhurst (home of The Community Foundation and United Way) at 5:15 PM on Monday, April 8th. The Foundation Board will meet at Lafayette Savings Bank at 4:00 PM on the Wednesday after the Club Board meetings.

♦ Pub Club will meet at Lushan China Bistro & Lounge, 2 South 4th Street, Lafayette on Wednesdays in March except Wednesday, March 27.

♦ On Wednesday, March 27, Lafayette Rotary Club will participate in a work night at Food Finders Warehouse, 50 Olympia Court, Lafayette. We will have a "happy hour" at Food Finders starting at 5:30 PM, and our work session will be from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. We will be joined in this work session with Student Ambassadors from the Center for Career Opportunities at Purdue. To sign up, see the bulletin board on Tuesdays.

♦ The Two Year College Scholarship Committee will meet in the Board Room at 1:00 next week – March 26th.

♦ MIKE PIGGOTT and SONYA MARGERUM, co-chairs of the Open World Committee, announced that young women from Russia will be in our care for a few days beginning April 12th. Steve and Sally Bryn are housing them. A dinner host on the evening of Sunday April 14th for 12 – 14 people would be appreciated. Please contact MIKE or SONYA if you can help. The group will give a program on Tuesday, April 16th.

♦ While reviewing recent fund raising successes, PRESIDENT TERRY thanked ELSA JANLE and JANE TURNER for funds in excess of $500 raised by jewelry sales at Christmas and toffee hearts for Valentines Day.

♦ GREG KAPP announced that five students from Harrison and West Lafayette High Schools attended RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) last weekend. They will share their experiences with us next month.

♦ The American Red Cross has asked us to work two 2-hour shifts on two Saturdays in April, soliciting funds at the Wal-Mart Stores. Watch for more details and a sign up sheet.
