50/50 RAFFLE:

CHRIS BIANG asked JO WADE to draw a ticket. The owner of the ticket was TIM LUZADER. Unfortunately, the Aces eluded him and he received a coupon from Pizza Hut as consolation prize.

CONGRATULATIONS:
While reminding us of the important work of The Rotary Foundation, CHRISTA KECK presented new Paul Harris Fellow pins to TIM LUZADER (PHF +2) and BETTY SUDDARTH (PHF + 7). She asked all Paul Harris Fellows to stand as we celebrated the generosity of TIM and BETTY to further the projects and work of The Rotary Foundation.
THANK YOU:
Jane and Rotary,
Thank you kindly for the lovely plant sent to me at the time of my surgery. It remains beautiful in our home and a reminder of many fine people!

PROGRAM:

CHRIS JOHANNSEN introduced Sally Coffman, retired from Purdue and currently writing columns for the Lafayette Leader. She opened by pointing out that to write humor you must surround yourself with positive people who share common experiences about everyday life. She described her adventure with computer dating. Other sources of humor included 1) owning a home, 2) vacations, and 3) our jobs. Her stories associated with each of these brought smiles. Sally has written a textbook and two books filled with humorous stories. Her column for the Leader is based on community events. She has been in several of Civic Theater’s shows, has coordinated Civic’s Comedy  Readers since 1992 and related the thrill of being on the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. with veterans last October.

STUDENT GUESTS:
BARB REIF introduced Corrie Henderson and Ryan Hancock from Harrison High School. Each received a certificate and a travel mug with the 4-Way Test to commemorate meeting with us today.

Ted Luce, guest of the speaker; Fred Sputh, guest of GORDON CHAVERS; Colin Mills, guest of CAROLINE BRIGGS.
