50/50 RAFFLE:

CHRIS BIANG asked TIM LUZADER to draw a ticket.  The owner of the ticket was DAVE SATTLER.  Unfortunately, the Aces eluded him and he received a coupon for Silver Dipper Ice Cream and a water bottle as
consolation prize.

BIRTHDAY TABLE:
Standing in for January Birthday Table Chair, JOE BONNER, KEVEN JENNINGS introduced the Rotarians celebrating another year and announced that so far $550 has been contributed to our Foundations.
PROGRAM:

CHRIS JOHANNSEN introduced Emily Dawes, 2010 Ambassadorial Scholar and Rotary Exchange Student participating in Arabic and Middle East Studies at the American University in Beirut, Lebanon.  Emily based
her talk on “Things I Never Thought I Would be Doing as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar’.  Some of these include swimming in the Mediterrian on the American University of Beirut’s private beach; being so active in the Rotaract Club; meeting Rotaracters from Egypt and
Jordan; learning how to snow board; visiting Lebanon’s wine country; and traveling to Turkey, Israel and Syria.

She is a third generation Boilermaker and will be awarded a masters degree in History and Middle East Studies this month.  Emily answered several good questions with grace and ease.  Her hope is to be employed by a university (Purdue) in the area of International Studies.

A Vision without a Task is a dream
A Task without a Vision is drudgery
A Vision and a Task is the hope of the world
