50/50 RAFFLE:
CHRIS BIANG asked BOB GRIFFITHS to draw a ticket. The owner of the ticket was JOE BONNER. Unfortunately, the remaining Aces eluded him and he selected a certificate for ice cream at Silver Dipper.
BIRTHDAY TABLE:

HARRIET COPPOC introduced the members celebrating another year in November and announced that so far this generous group has contributed $2,854 to our foundations. We sang Happy Birthday to them.

PROGRAM:

JO WADE introduced Dan Ritchie, owner of two Miracles Fitness training facilities in West Lafayette, whose topic was "Why Exercise is the Key to Functional Ability and Independence with Aging". He opened with a story about training Division One athletes. He prefers working with people who are motivated to work, rather than talented student athletes with poor work ethics. Fitness training allows people to do what they want to do in life, whether that is playing golf, climbing mountains, or keeping up with grandkids. Asking everyone to stand, he taught us two every easy exercises that will help with balance and upper body flexibility. As a result of several good questions from members, we learned that 30 minutes of activity 6 days a week is the right amount of exercise. He does not recommend the advertised drinks said to build muscles. And everyone should be able to do 20 push-ups. Several of us need to work on that!

STUDENT GUESTS:

PAUL POST introduced Claire Smedley and Jimmy Mills from Central Catholic High School. Each received a certificate and a travel mug with the Four-Way Test to commemorate meeting with us today
