BOB GRIFFITHS, on behalf of the Lafayette Rotary Club Foundation, presented DON "GUS" GUSTAFSON with a new badge and a Diamond Service recognition certificate to honor his contributions to the local Foundation.

PROGRAM:

Vice President JO WADE introduced Past President TIM LUZADER, who gave us the Top 10 reasons to attend a Rotary International Convention. TIM attended the conference in Bangkok last spring and adapted a famous Ball State graduate's famous Top 10 list to reflect the Big 10. Number 12 - Be in awe of the massive effort to put on a RI Convention. Number 11 - Hear inspirational remarks from so many speakers (see presentations on RI Web site). Number 10 - Feel a shared sense of accomplishment (only 3 countries left with polio!). Number 9 - Receive inspiration from individuals and entertainers. Number 8 - Many ways to connect in the House of Friendship. Number 7 - Sometimes wearing a Rotary shirt or hat attracts Rotarians from other walks of life and corners of the world. Number 6 - Learn about grass roots efforts through the many concurrent sessions offered. Number 5 - Experience people of different races and cultures that come together as friends. Number 4 - Enjoy the differences and similarities of other parts of the world. Number 3 - Meet new friends through Rotary and enjoy first time experiences. Number 2 - Learn best practices that might be applicable to your club. Number 1 - Recharge your own battery for engaging in Service Above Self initiatives on behalf of Rotary.
