Challenges and Substantial Satisfaction: A year at the YWCA Women's Cancer Program". She emphasized the importance of education about early detection in the 23 county area they serve. The program facilitates access to breast and cervical cancer screenings; lobbies for policies at the State level, recommends lifestyle changes to help women prevent cancer; and provides a patient navigator to help once cancer treatment has begun. She presented examples of women at risk and what obstacles they face. The program is funded by grants, fund raising events and individual donations.
