50/50 RAFFLE:
CHRIS BIANG asked BOB VERPLANK to draw a ticket. "GUS" GUSTAFSON was the owner of the ticket and drew the Ace of Diamonds! He will be sent a check for one quarter of the pot. Congratulations!!!
BIRTHDAY TABLE:

VICKI GREGORY introduced the members celebrating another year in September and announced that so far $800.00 has been contributed to our foundations. We sang Happy Birthday to celebrate with them.

CONGRATULATIONS:

SUSAN HYCHKA presented BILL FULLER with a new Paul Harris pin, this one containing a sapphire signifying that he has contributed at least $2,000 to The Rotary Foundation. SUSAN reminded us of some of the projects around the world that give people a chance at a better life, thanks to Rotary and the funds we contribute.

PROGRAM:

BARB REIF introduced Heidi Kauffman, whose topic was "Considerable Challenges and Substantial Satisfaction: A year at the YWCA Women's Cancer Program". She emphasized the importance of education about early detection in the 23 county area they serve. The program facilitates access to breast and cervical cancer screenings; lobbies for policies at the State level, recommends lifestyle changes to help women prevent cancer; and provides a patient navigator to help once cancer treatment has begun. She presented examples of women at risk and what obstacles they face. The program is funded by grants, fund raising events and individual donations.

STUDENT GUESTS:

LIZ SOLBERG introduced Kayla Ostrom and Jonathan Nance from Harrison High School. Each received a certificate and travel mug with the Four-Way Test to commemorate meeting with us today.
