SPECIAL PRESENTATION:

With help from DAVE LANDGREBE and TOM PEARSON, BETTY DOVERSBERGER showed us the quilt top that she has put together with banners our club members have brought back from all continents. This beautiful work of art will be quilted and placed in the Auction at our Harvest Dinner.

PROGRAM:

Members of the Membership Task Force were introduced by TIM RATLIFF. That was the "Who we are." part. "Why we are." was represented by a slide that shows two lines approaching each other. One represents declining membership and the other represents increase in average age of the club members. PHIL TUCKER led members through an exercise where ideas were suggested on the following topics: "What changes are necessary to attract and retain younger members?" "What one thing should we absolutely not change?" and "How can leadership, experience, training, networking, and service be incorporated into our lunch meetings?" JIM KLUSMAN noted that service clubs are important to the fabric of our nation and all are in decline. He reviewed our Mission Statement (easily read in the front of our Club Directory) and observed that it really is to further the Object of Rotary (as seen on the banner at the front of the room each week). The suggestions and ideas generated at the meeting today will be reviewed in the context of our mission.
