    ANNOUNCEMENTS:

♦ Satellite Meetings resume this week (one week earlier than announced last week). Wednesdays; 5:30 p.m.; Uncorked on Main Street. See you there!

♦ Registration for the October 26 & 27 District Conference may be done on line. The cost is $109 until August 1st, when it will increase to $129. Since we are the host club and no one needs to pay for hotel rooms, this is a great opportunity for a large percentage of our club to greet and welcome fellow Rotarians from the other 44 clubs in the District. Register now. Save money.

♦ At the Board of Directors meeting yesterday, it was decided that a payment to the treasury to Polio Plus would not be made. Instead, members may designate Polio Plus when making an Every Rotarian Every Year contribution and receive a tax deduction.

♦ TIM LUZADER reminded us that we should have the Harvest Dinner on our calendars. It is Thursday, October 25th. A mailing will be sent next week describing opportunities for sponsorships. This dinner is very important to the future of our local projects.

♦ PRESIDENT TERRY has copies of Bob and Ellie Haan's booklet on the Haan House, which shows some of the paintings talked about during Bob's presentation. They cost $5 each and are available from TERRY.

    JANE'S CORNER:
Highlights of this month's Club Board Meeting:

  • The Budget was approved for the coming year. With no recent major fund- raisers in the recent past, money for projects is coming from the Club's reserve funds.

  • Two members were approved for membership pending orientation sessions and two members were reinstated without the orientation session.

  • A revised Asset Protection policy was approved.
