♦ GENE HILLS reported Friday, May 25th: Today was our last day for the distribution of Back Packs for the school year 2011-12. The principal, Matt Rhoda, arranged to have all the participants in the program come to the cafeteria together 15 minutes before the regular time. After they received their Back Packs they sat down and Mr. Rhoda explained how we as Rotarians volunteer our time to come to the school on Thursdays to pack their Back Packs with food every week and then on Friday afternoon more Rotarians come to distribute them to each participant. After that we went around and gave each child participating in the program a bag of goodies donated by Kathy's Kandies. They also were told they had a fresh loaf of bread this week baked by Great Harvest in their Back Backs paid for from an extra donation made by the Rotary Club. The children showed their appreciation with loud warm thank yous.

♦ GORDON COPPOC reminded us that next week the Ukrainian visitors will be joining us for lunch. There will be a round table after the meeting for anyone who can stay to get to know them better. That evening there will be a dinner at Adelino's at 6:30. RSVP to GORDON if you can join the fun.

♦ MIKE PIGGOTT talked a little bit about the Community of Choice committee. There will be large focus group opportunities this week. Please go to the Chamber of Commerce web page for times and places. This is our opportunity to express opinions regarding the proposals.
