♦ DISTRICT GOVERNOR ELECT CRAIG SHERMAN reported on End Polio Now. As of January 13th India has not had a new case of polio in one year. They have two more years to go without new cases to be declared Polio free. The necessary funds were raised by Rotary to meet the Gates Foundation grant. AND the Gates Foundation recently made a $50 million grant with no strings attached. The bad news is that there is a polio emergency in Pakistan and Nigeria with outbreaks of new cases due to infected travelers. The work continues!!
