    ANNOUNCEMENTS:

♦ JERRY COLE announced that his wife, FAYE, will be part of a fun program planned for next week. She requests that everyone bring a wrapped "white elephant" gift.

♦ Preliminary Salvation Army numbers: 2011: Kettle collections $4,110.59; plus Checks from Rotarians $ 5,335.00, for a total for our club to date of $9,445.59. Compared with 2010: Kettle collections $2,197.34 plus Checks $7,450.00 for a total in 2010 of $9,647.34. FYI the Kiwanis showed $9,362.11 for 2011 to date from their Kettle and auction. We are happy to take checks any time you are ready to give. We certainly should be able to exceed the 2010 Rotary Club total.

♦ Our friends at Tippy Connect invite Rotarians to their Annual Gala on Friday, January 13th at 6 p.m. at Shively Club, Ross Ade Pavilion. David Coors from Miller Coors Brewing Company will be the keynote speaker. There will be a silent auction, awards, dinner and dancing. Cost: $40 for members, $60 for guests. This would be a great way to support young professionals and celebrate an outstanding year of service and achievement.

♦ The next "Pub Club" meeting will be Wednesday, January 4th at Adelino's. Plan to join us! See JANE's CORNER foe more dates/

♦ The Committees section of the web page has been updated. Please be sure to "reload" or "refresh" when you use it to see the newest lists. If you find something in a list you feel is incorrect, please report it to JANE. The committee descriptions are still in need of change.

♦ Rotary is matching all contributions up to $500 made to the Annual Fund until the end of this year. If you are close to receiving a Paul Harris Pin or a new pin, this is the time to double your money!

♦ ADG NANCY JO TRAFTON reminded us to register for the District Conference before the rate goes up after December 31st. She said we have 11 registered at the moment. Registration forms are available at the back desk and on line.

♦ BOB GRIFFITHS, representing the Lafayette Rotary Club Foundation, announced that WES McDIVITT has been nominated to serve a six-year term on the Foundation Board. He asked the club to ratify the selection. TERRY WEST moved with a second by STEVE STUCKY to ratify the nomination of WES McDIVITT. Motion carried.

♦ MAURI WILLIAMSON received an award from the Purdue Agricultural Alumni Association for his work at the Indiana State Fair making the Pioneer Farm and Home Show a highlight of the Fair. He has a 51 year relationship with the Fair. CONGRATULATIONS, MAURI!
