    ♦ LEW RUNNELS urged members to consider helping on Friday afternoons at 1:45. Distributing 120 backpacks takes 6 volunteers about 1 and 1/2 hours. If you can help, please contact LEW.

    ♦ SUSAN HYCHKA reminded members that the first meeting of the Satellite Club (Pub Club) will be at Adelino's from 5:30 - 7:00 on Wednesday, October 5th. All members are invited to come and to bring a prospective member. Future meetings are October 12 at Arni's; October 19 at Spurlocks; and October 26 at The Other Pub. It will cost $5 to get in and there will be a cash bar. This is a make-up opportunity!

    ♦ LETA KELLEY announced the next Euchre Party will be hosted by Steve and SUSAN HYCHKA on October 28th.

    ♦ BOB FEUER wants buddies to walk dogs. Please contact BOB if you are interested in a dog walking fellowship.

    ♦ The League of Women Voters of Greater Lafayette is holding a "Meet & Greet the WL Candidates" on Thursday, October 6th, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Room 106 Morton Community Center. The LWV is holding a "Meet and Greet to Lafayette Candidates" on Wednesday, October 5th at Ivy Tech, Ivy Hall rooms 1106,1112,1114, at 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The public is invited to meet the candidates. Light refreshments provided.

    ♦ Auctioneer TIM found a buyer for two tickets and a parking pass to the Minnesota Football Game this Saturday. HARRIET COPPOC will enjoy the band and homecoming activities.

Even though I have a wonderful caretaker, who has been taking care of me for 52 years, I smile when I receive your thoughtfulness and encouragement.
