50/50 RAFFLE:
ZACH BROWN announced that a record number of raffle tickets were sold today. He asked CORKY MITCHELL to pull a ticket. The ticket belonged to CHRIS JOHANNSEN, who drew the Ace of Diamonds! CHRIS said he will give some thought to use of the funds.

PROGRAM:

PRESIDENT TIM introduced DISTRICT GOVERNOR NANCY MADRU, who presented the big picture for Rotary this year. PRESIDENT BANERJEE'S theme is "Reach Within to Embrace Humanity". Within that statement is family (at the core), continuity (a century of success) and change (the strategic plan). This includes a focus on New Generations. Key trends are flexibility, collaboration (with other organizations, including Kiwanis) and consistency in branding (wear your pin everywhere). There will be an increase in the use of social media; a shift in culture from attendance to engagement; a transformation of RI programs to resource and support models; and an effort to connect and attract all Rotary Alumni. She announced that the District Conference in French Lick will be March 23 and 24, 2012. The Leadership Institute is scheduled for February 18th and the Foundation/Membership Seminar is November 5th. The number one reason people don't become Rotarians is because they were not asked to be one. To reverse the downward trend in our membership, she encouraged members to invite a friend to join us.

FRED KUIPERS interviewed Molly Henderson and Joe Dinkel from Harrison High School. Each will receive a certificate and a travel mug containing the Four- Way-Test to commemorate meeting with us today.
