    ANNOUNCEMENTS:

♦ Committee sign up sheets are available. Please fill it out and give it to JANE or TIM LUZADER.

♦ NANCY JO TRAFTON, president of Daybreak Rotary, invites us to their Rotary After Hours, 5:00 on June 2nd at Holiday Inn downtown. There is a $5 charge at the door. All are welcome.

♦ For Every Rotarian Every Year one third of the members have made a contribution to The Rotary Foundation. Our average is $65 toward our goal of $100 per member. There is still time to play your part. Contribute on line or bring a check to the meeting.

♦  Rotarian of the Year nomination forms are available at the back desk. Please think of someone in the club who is deserving of recognition.

♦ PRESIDENT ELECT TIM LUZADER thanked members for suggestions for programs this year. He reminded everyone that TERRY WEST will need the same support as he takes over the responsibility for programs in a couple of months. Please send your ideas by e-mail to TERRY.

♦ The winning ticket for today's 50/50 Raffle belonged to BOB WOERNER. Unfortunately the Ace of Diamonds eluded him. Better luck next time, BOB!

    PROSPECTIVE NEW MEMBER:
Phillip "Phil" Tucker, sponsored by CHRIS BIANG, has been approved as a new member. If there are no objections, he will be introduced soon.

    JANE'S CORNER:
Thanks to MICHAEL HUNT for this note correcting last week's announcement regarding the Rotary Peace Fellowship:

"It is a masters program offered at Duke University in Chapel Hill, NC. . . . ." Being an alumnus of Duke Univ. in Durham, NC and with a son who is a twice over graduate of the Univ. of North Carolina at Chapel Hill I recommend Ripples defuse an internecine war by correcting the location of Duke University from the home of its fiercest rival (and super college town with all the attendant attributes) to a relatively low key community that formerly was a center of tobacco products and textile manufacturing. Textile manufacturing has gone to foreign shores and tobacco is out of favor due to medical evidence.

Highlights of The Club Board Meeting:

♦ New policies related to the President's duties and Board Member's Code of Conduct were adopted.

♦ The Task Force studying the Club's finances, headed by DON GENTRY, presented its findings, noting that both the Foundation and Club are in good financial shape. They made suggestions for procedure for selecting projects and funding them. The Recommendations will be voted upon next month.

♦ Rotarian Magazine will be available on line beginning in July.
