    ANNOUNCEMENTS:

♦ Packers are needed on Thursdays. Instead of packing on Thursday, April 21st, backpacks will be filled on Wednesday, April 20th. Please contact LETA KELLEY. The Back Pack Distribution committee could use more help on Fridays at 2:15 p.m. Please contact LEW RUNNELS or DICK RAHDERT if you can help.

♦ A sad reminder: Former Rotarians John Day, Sr. and Mara Wasburn died last week. Both were members of our club for many years.

♦ STAN MITHOEFER invited everyone to the Purposeful Living in Retirement conference on Wednesday, April 27th. Open to ALL (retired or not; Purdue or not), it is $10 well spent. For details and registration form, contact STAN.

♦ Attention all Euchre players. Beth and ROBERT SCHROEDER have invited the group to their house on Friday, April 22nd. Come at 6:30 bringing an appetizer to share and the wine of your choice. Sign up by contacting LETA KELLEY.

♦ LETA KELLEY, co-chair of the Family of Rotary committee, invited us to "take a trip to the opera." At noon on Saturday, April 9th at Lafayette Theater 10 there will be a behind the scenes tour followed by Rossini's comic opera "Le Comte Ory". Although it is a French opera there will be English sub titles. The cost will be $18.50 for seniors ands a few dollars more for under ages. The opera entertains for over three hours. By that time everyone will be hungry. Dinner is at Nine Irish Brothers at 5 PM. Since the private room there only holds 32, let LETA know now that you want to participate. It is not too late to sign up for the opera and/or dinner. Check out LETA's scenario in WORD or PDF

♦ TERRY WEST announced that so far $964 has been collected for the club from the 50/50 Raffle. Today's winning ticket belonged to JOHN TROTT. Unfortunately the Ace of Diamonds eluded him, but he took home a Fast Eddies car wash coupon as consolation prize.

    PROSPECTIVE NEW MEMBER:
Nathan Hedrick, sponsored by ZACH BROWN, has been approved for membership. If there are no objections, he will be introduced soon.
