ANNOUNCEMENTS:

♦ JAN GRIFFIN KOEHLER announced that nomination forms for the Vocational Service Above Self Award are available at the back table. A Rotarian, non- Rotarian or agency may be nominated. The deadline is March 1st. Please think of a deserving person to recognize.

♦ Packers are needed on Thursdays to pack backpacks at Miami School. Please sign up to help or contact LETA KELLEY. On Friday afternoons the Distribution committee could use some help. Contact DICK RAHDERT for details.

♦ February 23rd is the 106th birthday of Rotary.

♦ TERRY WEST presented JIM HOBBS with the winning Ace of Spades, which he drew last week, along with half of the proceeds of the 50/50 Raffle. TERRY then asked HARLEY FREY to draw this week's winning 50/50 Raffle ticket. It belonged to MARIANNE ROSE, who picked the Ace of Hearts! Congratulations MAIRANNE! She was given the Ace of Hearts and half of the proceeds from this week's 50/50 Raffle.

♦ LETA KELLEY, co-chair of the Family of Rotary committee, invited us to "take a trip to the opera." At noon on Saturday, April 9th at Lafayette Theater 10 there will be a behind the scenes tour followed by Rossini's La cambiale di matrimonio. The opera entertains for over three hours. By that time everyone will be hungry. Dinner is at Nine Irish Brothers. Since the private room there only holds 32, let LETA know now that you want to participate.

♦ PRESIDENT DICK announced that a bridge made of canned food will be built at the District Conference. Kroger's is supplying the cans, which will be donated to Gleaners following the conference. Each club in the District is asked to raise $200 in the next two weeks to pay for the cans of food.

♦ KIM MOTULIAK announced that Food Finders has a truck-load of cereal. Rotary has the opportunity to help repackage the cereal from 9 - 11 on Saturday mornings, March 12 and 26th. There will be a sign up sheet for those who want to join the fun. Or contact KIM at Food Finders.
