CONGRATULATIONS:

PRESIDENT DICK presented GORDON COPPOC with a new Paul Harris Pin. It contains one sapphire, signifying that it is his second Paul Harris Fellow.

PROGRAM:

PRESIDENT ELECT TIM LUZADER announced that Ambassadorial Scholar to Scotland, Autumn Keller, has laryngitis, making it impossible for her to speak to us today. He introduced GORDON COPPOC who came to the rescue with a program for today after a 9:00p.m. telephone Monday night! This man understands Service Above Self!
GORDON, the Assistant Dean of the IU School of Medicine gave us an update on the second largest MD student body in the U.S., noting that half of Indiana's physicians graduated from IU. Purdue is one of 8 regional centers with 322 students this year. There are 32 Purdue faculty members teaching in the program along with 45 MDs in the community who serve as guest lecturers and mentors. The class of 2014 has 7 females and 9 males. GORDON touched on recommended changes in educating physicians and the exciting prospect of a new facility to house this important program.
