CONGRATULATIONS:

SUSAN HYCHKA presented SALLY WATLINGTON with a new pin with one sapphire, signifying that she has contributed $2,000 to the work of The Rotary Foundation.

PROGRAM:

GENE COURTANEY introduced Lt. Col. Dion Bates, Department Head of Purdue's Army ROTC, noting that he has served two tours in Iraq and received two Bronze Stars. He reportyed that different assignments have brought about nine moves for him and his family and that next year he will retire and make West Lafgauyette his ifamily's permanent home.

What followed, in tribute to Veterans, was so moving that he received a rare standing ovation of considerable length from the club. You had to have been there. His closing advice was to honor veterans by living lives nobly and well and being productive citizens.

STUDENT GUESTS:

CHIP RUTLEDGE introduced Iyn Young Jung and Stone Irr from Faith Christian High School. Each received a certificate and a travel mug with the 4 - Way Test to commemorate meeting with us today.
