    ANNOUNCEMENTS:

♦ JAYNE FEATHERS announced that Applebee's on the west side will reserve the whole restaurant for us on October 16th (Purdue Homecoming) from 8 10 a.m. Our job is to sell tickets for $10 each ($5 of which will go to our club for Polio Eradication) for a pancake breakfast with all the trimmings. Office mates, friends and relatives are all possible customers. Or purchase them for any number of charities. Everyone needs a good breakfast!

♦ SUSAN SMITH says as of 9/15, she is no longer using her Purdue e-mail address. Please use ssmith0704@comcast.net to get in touch with her.

♦ LETA KELLEY announced that she and JACK will host a Echre party on October 30th. If you have not played before, don't let that stop you. The fun begins at 6:30 at the KELLEY home. R.S.V.P. to LETA.

♦ JOHN BARRETT announced that $52 worth of raffle tickets were sold today. The winning number belonged to ROB GALBRAITH! Although the Ace of Spades eluded him, he won a ticket to the pancake breakfast at Applebee's on October 16th. Congratulations, ROB!

♦ The Nominating Committee of the Lafayette Rotary Club Foundation requests your help. If you would like to be considered for the LRCF Board of Directors or you would like to suggest the name of another member of the LRC, please send an email with the appropriate information to Betty M. Nelson at bmnelson@purdue.edu . The Nominating Committee will begin its work by the end of September. Your suggestions are welcome immediately.

♦ September 25th - Purdue Rotaract Club President, JACQUELINE COONEY, invited us to a cookout from 2 - 5 p.m. in Happy Hallow Park's Shelter 3. Please R.S.V.P. to JACQUELINE at rotaract.purdue@gmail.com This is a terrific opportunity to get to know the members of Rotaract.

♦ October 2nd - Rotary Workday in the State of Indiana by declaration of Governor Mitch Daniels. We are teaming up with Daybreak, Rotaract and Interact to work on a Rain Garden Project. It was suggested that senior members have a gathering and write to members who are shut-in.

    ♦ October 24 - World Polio Day

    ♦ April 29 & 30, 2011 - District Conference in Carmel, IN.

♦ If your e-mail server has changed from verizon to frontier, please inform JANE.
