PDG JERRY ERSKINE presented a first Paul Harris Fellow to Bee Horner, wife of CHUCK HORNER. He asked CHUCK to attach the pin to her sweater and congratulated both on their significant contributions to The Rotary Foundation.

JERRY assisted SUSAN HYCHKA and JIM TURLEY in presenting WES MC DIVITT, ELAINE ELLISON and CAROLYN JONES with first Paul Harris Fellows. Each received the certificate and a pin. CHUCK HORNER and DAVE FILMER were presented with new pins containing three Sapphires representing $4,000 in contributions. CHRISTA KECK received a pin with five Sapphires representing contributions of $6,000. And ZBIG GRABOWSKI, back from Florida, received pins with one and two Rubies, representing contributions of $8,000. A big thank you and congratulations to these very generous Rotarians.

PAT COREY introduced Tom Snyder, the 8th President of Ivy Tech Community College. He began with a video showing students who continue their education at Ivy Tech for a variety of reasons. Some interesting statistics: 31% increase in enrollment this year and growth of another 10 - 15% expected next year; average age of students, 27.3 years; 24,000 freshmen last year; 60% receive financial aid; 10,000 students on the Lafayette campus; 13,000 students are African American; 10,000 are on food stamps. Snyder's Steps to Success includes necessary achievements for children from kindergarten to high school graduation. Ivy Tech offers two year degrees in several fields providing a range of credentials.

Tim Hula, guest of TIM PARSONS, introduced Anna Cummings and Megan Meacham from Harrison College. Each received a certificate and a travel mug with the Four - Way Test to commemorate meeting with us today.
