PROGRAM:

DICK RAHDERT introduced fellow Rotarian GEORGE RAMSEY, a physician specializing in cancer treatment. The first cause of death for people younger than 85 years is cancer. Lung cancer is the biggest killer. Cancer cell characteristics (uncontrolled growth, invasion of normal tissue and metastasis to other organs) were described along with risk factors. Breast, lung, colon, prostate, skin and cervical cancers are most prevalent. GEORGE highly recommends screenings and tests to catch early signs. With proper treatment, many people are surviving cancer.
