ANNOUNCEMENTS:

♦ PRESIDENT CHRISTA announced that we are almost half way to our Every Rotarian Every Year commitment. If you haven't made your contribution to The Rotary Foundation during this Rotary year (July '09 - June '10), please do so.

♦ More backpack volunteers are needed on Thursdays and Fridays. Sign up on the board in the back of the room or contact CHARLOTTE HOWELLS.

♦ The Rotary International Convention is in Montreal in June. Registration forms are available on the back desk. Montreal is a marvelous city and on this continent. This is an opportunity to experience the wonderful world of Rotary in a few days.

♦ JACK KELLEY will accept donated shoes and glasses until next week.

♦ The deadline for the Vocational Service Award has been extended to the end of this month. Submit your Application form (which accompanies this newsletter) to JAN GRIFFIN KOEHLER as soon as possible. Down load a copy of the form in WORD here Or as PDF here.

JANE'S CORNER:

Highlights of Monday's Club Board Meeting:

♦ The draft Bylaws presented by JIM KLUSMAN, chair of the Governance Committee were accepted for presentation to the membership.

♦ To comply with District rules regarding future grants, a new checking account will be established with three members having power to sign checks. Accounting for grant funds will be strict.

♦ Strategies of Fund raising was presented by ARVID OLSON.

♦ The Backpack committee reported that new back packs will be purchased for next year.
