    ANNOUNCEMENTS:

    ♦ Saturday, December 12th at 9:30 A.M. we will be packing Christmas boxes for the Women's Shelter at the YWCA. Please sign up if you can help.

    ♦ JAYNE FEATHERS encouraged us to take advantage of special sales on hats and mittens for Christmas backpacks. She also said there had been a serious decline in the number of volunteers. Packers are needed on Thursdays and Distributors on Fridays. Please play your part!

    ♦ The Annual Lafayette Rotary Club Belling Ringing Day for Salvation Army will be on Saturday, December 12, from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at nine locations across town. Several slots are still available (Click on "Salvation Army Bell Ringing" in the left hand column of our web page). Contact BRYAN METZGER @ 765/426.1611 to reserve a time slot. You can bring a spouse, child, friend, etc. to help out. THANK YOU for your service!

    ♦ LETA KELLEY presented a list of items needed for the Christmas Backpacks by next Tuesday: Corn - 49 cans; Stuffing - 29 boxes; Green beans - 5 cans; Jello, big boxes, any flavor - 56 boxes; Potato flakes - 37 boxes; Cream of Mushroom soup - 22 cans; Fruit, any kind, - 43 cans; Hats - 17; Mittens or gloves - 3.

    ♦ CATHY BARRON has sign up sheets ready for packing backpacks in January, February and March. It's an easy job if there are many hands to make the work light.

    ♦ CAROL GALBRAITIH, chair of the Red Cross Gifts for Kids program, is collecting funds and volunteers to adopt a child and purchase the items needed. If you can help, please contact CAROL.

    ♦ JAYNE FEATHERS introduced the "Give the Gift of a Smile" program. SMILE breaks down as follows:
