CLUB CONCERNS:
President CHRISTA KECK asked us to keep the following in our thoughts and prayers: ROY WHISTLER, FRANCIS PRITSCHER, REX KEPLER and all Rotarians that could use extra prayers.

PROGRAM:

Brigadier General Margaret Washburn was introduced by BILL HATFIELD, who reminded us that November 11th was once called Armistice Day. Brigadier General Washburn served in several positions and received many awards. She was the first female general officer in the Indiana National Guard. The National Guard has been in existence for a long time. She spoke of past and present National Guard heroes and asked all present who served and those with family members serving to please stand and be recognized. Brig. Gen. Washburn reminded us that sometimes families have a much-harder time of it, than the service members. Service members come from all walks of life and are part of an elite group fighting wildfires and hurricanes, along with serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. She briefly discussed the base re-alignments and closings in Indiana and pointed out that the National Guard is one of the largest employers in the State. The National Guard building in Lafayette is currently being expanded thanks to design work by the Scholer Corporation and construction by Kettlehut. Please take a moment at the 11th hour, on the 11th day of the 11th month to recognize our great military who have fought and who are fighting valiantly to preserve our freedom.
