CLUB CONCERNS:
President CHRISTA KECK asked us to keep the following in our thoughts and prayers: ROY WHISTLER and FRANCIS PRITSCHER and REX KEPLER

PROGRAM:

Morgan Burke, Athletic Director at Purdue University, gave us an update on the progress of the athletic facility before introducing Matt Painter, head basketball coach for 5 years.
Matt talked about expectations fans have of a team and then emphasized the organized process of making a successful team. Senior leaders are a key to that success. The younger players are looking good, but need to keep working. Fourteen of the seventeen players come from Indiana high schools and the team has a 3.0 grade average.
Burke introduced Sharon Vrysup, head coach for women's Basketball. She is in her 4th season at Purdue, but admitted to being involved with basketball for 25 years. The team is excited but working on correcting bad habits. Injuries are keeping three players sidelined. The freshman players will play, and all players will work hard to make up for deficiencies caused by injuries.
Burke concluded the program by saying that he hopes athletics created some sunshine in our lives on a gloomy day.
