President KECK introduced BOB GRIFFITHS, President of the Lafayette Rotary Club Foundation, who reviewed the officers and financial statement. Due to the economy, there was a decrease in corpus for last year. JAY SMITH, chair of the Investment Committee, showed the investment activity over this bad year, noting the recent upswing in the market has restored most of the losses. The Grant Calculation Policy was explained. DAVE LUHMAN and RICHARD BARTHOLOMEW asked GRIFFITHS to play the piano while they explained the many ways to contribute (cask, stocks, insurance, pensions) as BOB tried to raise funds as a piano man. You had to be there! A very visual (and fun) demonstration of "where the money goes" took place with pennies (from heaven!) going to The Rotary Foundation (bucket held by BILL HATFIELD), the club (bucket held by CHIRSTA KECK), scholarships (bucket held by MIKE SIMPSON) and BackPack (bucket held by JANE FEATHERS). |

CHIP RUTLEDGE introduced Interact members Madeline Porterfield and Michael Schmirerer from West Lafayette High School. Each received a certificate and a travel mug with the 4-Way Test to commemorate meeting with us. |
