    ANNOUNCEMENTS:

♦ TOM MORAN reminded us that this weekend is the Gus Macker Tournament. Volunteers are needed. And if you have not written your check for $124, it's not too late.

♦ JIM TURLEY announced a meeting of the International Foundation Committee for 15 September at 11:15.

♦ There will be a Family of Rotary committee meeting September 22nd.

♦ The Rotary Foundation (International) has been ranked 2nd of all charitable organizations in terms of best managed. Don't forget to fulfill our Every Rotarian Every Year commitment of $100, knowing it will be well spent.

♦ PRESIDENT CHRISTA announced that a GSE team leader is needed for the group going to The Netherlands. If you are interested, contact CHRISTA or JANE.

♦ ROB NOLL announced that an information meeting for Rotary Youth Exchange will take place in Carmel High School on Thursday, September 17. This session is for interested students and their parents to learn more about RYE and whether or not it is the program for them. It is not a commitment, just a chance to learn more about the Program. RYE is for students ages 16 - 18, typically sophomores applying for their junior year abroad. It is a full academic year in another country. You will live in a host home and attend a local high school. It is the best program of its kind, and one of the least expensive programs in existence. This is a Rotary Program where our own kids or grand kids can participate.

♦ A farewell party for Dan Guildenbacher is planned for Wednesday, September 16th from 5-6:30 at the Habitat for Humanity office. It will be an open house format. No agenda - just food and chit-chat. All Rotarians involved with Gus Macker the past three years appreciate Dan's hard work and have the opportunity to send him off to Germany with best wishes.

♦ Food for the Christmas Backpacks is accepted every week. Please bring your contribution "early and often"!

♦ Our attendance computer died. If you have an old one able to operate an Excel program that you are no longer using, please contact JANE.

    THANK YOU:
There is a charge for prime parking places at PEFCU. Each month the funds raised are donated to a charitable cause. DAVE WILLIAMS, Director of Business Development, suggested that Rotary's good works receive some support. The Backpack Program received a $100 donation, thanks to DAVE and PEFCU!
