PRESIDENT CHRISTA introduced Purdue Athletic Director Morgan Burke, who gave a progress report on construction at Mackey Arena. He introduced Purdue Volleyball Coach Dave Shondell, coach for the past seven years. Dave says the team is starting over this year. The freshman class is exciting. He encouraged everyone to buy season tickets, saying it is a real bargain and a great entertainment value. After reviewing the new players and the schedule, he had very fine things to say about Danny Hope and the football team. Burke rose again to introduce Purdue's Head Football Coach, Danny Hope. Coach Hope reported that recruiting went well and they got through the practice camp season with everyone healthy. This year's team has an experienced offensive line, which will do better than last year; tough running backs; and experienced defensive linemen. He's excited about the team and expects to win each game. |
