CLUB CONCERNS:

President CHRISTA KECK asked us to keep the following in our thoughts and prayers: ROY WHISTLER; FRANCIS PRITSCHER (FRANCIS would appreciate visits and calls from Rotarians); and GENE COURTANEY who is recovering from hip replacement surgery.

PROGRAM:

DICK RAHDERT introduced Rebecca Humphrey, Youth Services Executive Director of the Tippecanoe County Juvenile Justice System, who gave us an update on Cary Home and Juvenile Justice Programs. The Juvenile Court receives an average of 1,519 referrals annually; average age is 14.4 years old. The program requires parent participation and payment for treatment cost for the children. Cary Home recently expanded to include a girl's unit. The percentage of youths charged two or more times has increased steadily the past three years. This is due to a shortage of help. It is hoped that the Intake/Assessment Center will improve that situation.

GUESTS:

Heather Stout, guest of MARNE HELGESEN
