CLUB CONCERNS:
Past President ROB GALBRAITH, standing in for vacationing PRESIDENT CHRISTA, asked us to keep the following in our thoughts and prayers: ROY WHISTLER; FRANCIS PRITSCHER (FRANCIS would appreciate visits and calls from Rotarians).

PROGRAM:

DICK RAHDERT introduced fellow Rotarian, TERRY WEST, Professor of Engineering Geology in the Earth and Atmospheric Science department at Purdue. He began by describing the geology of Indiana as Glacial (northern part) and Bedrock (southern part). The Wabash River, which drains two-thirds of the state, begins in the Blue Clay area of the north, passes through the Tipton till plain and works its way through the rocky southern strata before connecting with the Ohio River. The rock structures are horizontal through most of the state, except where a meteor hit in Newton County. The quarry there revealed vertical standing rocks, shatter cone and a mineral only present in meteoric impact structures. TERRY ended by answering several good questions.
