    ANNOUNCEMENTS:
  • PRESIDENT CHRISTA announced that interviews for GSE Team Leader will be Saturday, August 8th in Indianapolis.

  • TOM MORAN, CHAIR OF THE Gus Macker committee, explained that the tournament is not canceled (as previously announced). A large cancellation penalty in the contract could not be waived, so fund raising efforts will resume with great intensity. If you can help, please contact TOM.

  • TERRY WEST, chair of the Ambassadorial Scholars committee, announced that the District selected our candidate for outbound Scholar. She speaks Arabic and intends to study in Jordan. The Inbound Scholar is a female from South Korea. If you would like to be a mentor, please contact TERRY.

  • JACK KELLEY discovered that the physician from Zambia on the GSE team worked at a hospital with no EKG equipment. JACK procured a used machine from Arnett Clinic and shipped it to the team leader's Rotary Club in Zambia. They are presenting it to the hospital. This is a fine example of what can happen when members from far corners of the world meet and discover ways to serve. Good work JACK!

  • FRITZ COHEN announced that the next Shots Not Spots will be Wednesday, August 5th at the County Health Department. Ten volunteers are needed in 5 shifts. Sign up next week or contact FRITZ.

  • If you did not sign up for committees, it's not too late. Forms are available on JANE'S table. To keep this club strong, we need participation at all levels. There is a job for you!

  • PROSPECTIVE NEW MEMBER:
Dorothy Light has been approved to rejoin us at Rotary. Her lifestyle has changed to allow her to be active in our club again. Unless there are objections, she will attend as regularly as possible.

    JANE'S CORNER:
Highlights of the Club Board Meeting
    • Jim Klusman reported that the process of incorporation has begun and an application to the IRS for 501c4 status will involve a $750 fee.

    • Tom Moran discussed the Gus Macker Tournament and the need to solicit donations to meet our goal.

    • Dorothy Light was approved for readmission to the club.

    • There will be no need to cancel any meetings in December due to holidays.
