CLUB CONCERNS:

PRESIDENT ROB asked us to keep the following in our thoughts and prayers: ROY WHISTLER; FRANCIS PRITSCHER (FRANCIS would appreciate visits and calls from Rotarians).

EULOGY:

JIM BODENMILLER presented the eulogy for BOB BROCK. It seems BOB, with his zest for life, was involved in everything in the community. Thank you, JIM, for the fond memories. Click here to read the full Eulogy.

CONGRATULATIONS:

ARVID OLSON made a special presentation with a certificate declaring REX KEPLER Emeritus Musician after forty years of playing the piano for Rotary. He received a long standing ovation.

PROGRAM:

VICKI BURCH introduced Audeen Fentiman, Associate Dean of Engineering and Professor of Nuclear Engineering, Purdue University, who presented compelling arguments for "Going Green with Nuclear Energy". She covered the importance of energy (related to quality of life issues); where it comes from (oil, coal, natural gas, nuclear and renewables); and costs. We had a five minutes course in nuclear physics to explain how nuclear power plants work, along with a discussion of the environmental considerations. There were several good questions from members, which Dean Fentiman handled with ease.
