  • BILL BAUMGARDT, on behalf of the Flee Market Group at Westminster Village, presented to the club a brass Rotary Wheel that was found for sale. Since all were given away, we are happy to have this for our archives.

    Highlights of the Club Board Meeting:
    • Resignations were accepted from:

    • The 2009-2010 Budget was approved.
    • Partnering with the District on the Heart to Heart Initiative with Mexico, the Board approved $2,000 to be used to purchase laundry equipment for an orphanage in Instituto Guadalupano Calacoaya, which shelters more than 100 girls between 0 and 21 years old.

    Highlights from the Lafayette Rotary Club Foundation Board meeting:

    After months of consideration and discussion, The Golden Service Recognition Policy was changed using the following language: "Golden Service Award recognition will not be given for monies received by the Foundation solely as a conduit for transfer to other projects, programs or charitable organizations, such as The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International or the Salvation Army."
