PRESIDENT ROB asked us to keep the following in our thoughts and prayers: BOB BROCK, ROY WHISTLER, FRANCIS PRITSCHER (FRANCIS would appreciate visits and calls from Rotarians), and LARRY HUGGINS who had surgery to remove his appendix.

PROGRAM:

JAYNE FEATHERS began by introducing special friends of the Backpack program. Scott and Debbie Schneider who own Lafayette Carpet Cleaning have offered to clean the backpacks to have them in great shape for students next year. Abbey Mattson, representing University Plaza Hotel received a big thank you for providing fresh fruit to be sent home with the children. JAYNE also thanked Food Finders representatives KIM MOTULIAK, Ed Boes and Katy Bunder for their hard work to make this a success. CHARLOTTE HOWELLS and BECKY ROBLEDO have two more weeks of packing and distributing packs before they receive a rest for the summer. Thank you to both of them for a job well done.
JAYNE then introduced JOHN ELLIOTT, Public Affairs and Media Spokesperson for Kroger Company Central Division, who talked about Kroger's Role in the Backpack Program and I n community involvement. JOHN, a member of the Indianapolis Rotary Club, outlined the 126-year history of the company and said it is the nation's largest food retailer with $76 Billion in Sales and 4,500 stores.
