JACK KELLEY thanked those who helped with the GSE team earlier this month. Our club always receives high marks for hosting and educating the teams. The NORBERGS, KELLEYS, REIFS, COREYS and BARRONS hosted. Drivers included TOM MORAN, LETA KELLEY, CATHY BARRON and JOHN COREY. GREGG DONAT, GORDON COPPOC, ROB GALBRAITH, JOHN COREY CHIP RUTLEDGE CHRISTIE SMITH and JACK KELLEY provided educational experiences for a most grateful group from Africa.

JIM KLUSMAN (left), chair of the Governance Committee, reported that the committee recommended Incorporation of the Club to the Board of Directors and it was approved. Incorporation offers the maximum amount of protection for the Club. This necessitates a change in the ByLaws, which must be approved by the members. DAVE LUHMAN (right) explained how the Club would be protected.

CHRISTA KECK (left), President Elect, reviewed the committee selection sheet. One director from each area described the committees in that area: JEANNE NORBERG (right) for Membership; TOM FREY for International; SUSAN SMITH for Service; and TIM LUZADER for operations.

PROGRAM:

CHRISTA KECK introduced RICHARD BARTHOLOMEW, President of the Lafayette Rotary Club Foundation, who reviewed the Purpose of the Foundation and announced that even though the principle has suffered in the recent market crisis, $12,500 will go to the Club for scholarships next year. RICHARD reminded us that there are several ways to give to the foundation and added one more to the list. We can become members of The Marquis Society by naming the foundation as a beneficiary. There are no levels of giving and no proof needed. Just fill out a card saying the Lafayette Rotary Club Foundation will receive a gift after you die. Cash, stocks and gifts from your IRA are also
other ways to contribute. RICHARD and DAVE played a fast game of Jeopardy. I'm happy to announce that DAVE won!

RICHARD presented BETTY NELSON with a new name badge and certificate to honor her Diamond Level of contribution to the Foundation. BOB GRIFFITHS presented a certificate to RICHARD to recognize his Golden Service level of giving.
